Qatari photographer Khalid Al-Mansour, famed for his portraits of oil magnates, abruptly abandons his career to document the lives of stray cats in Doha. His lens captures not just animals, but entire social microcosms: cats sleeping on the air conditioners of luxury hotels, hunting for scraps near construction sites, finding refuge in mosques. The film follows Khalid for three years as he builds his unusual gallery—twenty-five portraits, each becoming a mirror for Qatari society, torn between futuristic glamour and ancient traditions. The viewer witnesses the photographer's personal project transforming into an unexpected sociological study, revealing through the fates of these animals the hidden cracks in the emirate's perfectly polished facade.
