18 Holes to Paradise
Marcos, a former golfer, returns to his hometown after his father's death. In the old garage, he finds an unfinished project—blueprints for an 18-hole golf course his father dreamed of building on a derelict plot. Instead of selling the land, Marcos decides to complete the work, facing resistance from neighbors, doubts from his family, and his own demons. He is aided only by a strange orphaned teenager who sees the project as a chance for salvation. As hole after hole takes shape, old secrets linking Marcos's father to the land begin to surface. The film explores themes of inheritance, healing, and how we build paradise on earth, often against all odds.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take
The director employs a minimalist, almost documentary-like style, with a camera that often remains static, allowing the landscapes and silences to speak for themselves. Long takes on the actors' faces convey inner turmoil without excess dialogue.
Those who tire of fast-paced plots will find a meditative immersion in the act of creation, where every swing of a pickaxe or conversation by a sand truck becomes a meaningful gesture. What lingers after is the quiet persistence and fragile moments of understanding between people.— MovieFinder Editorial
