Taste and Tears

Haruka works in a small restaurant where every dish is a silent conversation with the past. Her ritual of preparing unagi has become a way to speak with her deceased father, until one day Takeshi sits at the counter—a critic who has lost his ability to taste. Their meeting begins not with words, but with a bowl of cold tofu he eats without expression. Instead of conflict, a strange partnership forms: she searches for lost flavors in his memory, he tries to recall the sensation of happiness through her hands. The film explores how food becomes a language for those who have forgotten how to speak, and how the kitchen becomes a place where silence is louder than any words. Here, tears come not from sorrow, but from the sudden return of a long-forgotten childhood taste in a simple dish.
