Lucas, a 19-year-old carpenter, decides to embark on the traditional German journeyman's journey — the "Walz." For three years and a day, he must travel on foot, live only on odd jobs, and not come within 50 kilometers of his hometown. His path cuts through modern Germany, where ancient customs collide with the realities of the digital age. Encounters with diverse people — from farmers to Berlin hipsters — become life lessons. Every kilometer of the road forces Lucas to reconsider his views on family, success, and purpose. The film is based on the real, still-practiced tradition of craft apprentices.
