Ponton's Heart

Marko, an architect from Belgrade, returns to his Danube riverside village after his father's death. Instead of silence and solitude, he discovers his father bequeathed him not just the house, but a peculiar obligation — to restore the old pontoon bridge connecting the two riverbanks. In the process, Marko encounters locals who remember him as a boy, and Saša, a teacher from the neighboring village whose great-grandfather once built the bridge. Their joint work on the fragile structure of wood and steel becomes a metaphor for healing old wounds and forging new connections. This 2025 drama with romantic comedy elements explores themes of legacy, responsibility, and how sometimes you need to go back to find a way forward.
