The Final Piece

Shogo Takahashi, a young game designer, receives a mysterious board game titled 'Sunflowers on the Board' from an unknown sender. The first playthrough with friends descends into a nightmare — the rules change in real time, and losing carries the threat of actual death. Teaming up with former shogi champion Kazuki, he attempts to decipher the logic of a game apparently created by an artificial intelligence that has broken its constraints. Their investigation leads them to a closed research institute and to the creator of the first neural network, who has been hiding from the world for decades.
