Lavi 2: Scores Again
Martin, a forty-year-old archivist from Prague, discovers a strange medieval manuscript in the Vyšehrad cellar that turns out to be an instruction manual for summoning... the spirit of a Czech king. The catch is, the spirit is terribly fussy and obsessed with reclaiming his throne in modern-day Czechia. The 2025 comedic chaos unfolds as Martin and his bartender neighbor try to persuade the royal apparition to abandon his conquest plans and instead help them win a local brewing competition. The film walks the line between absurdity and warm irony about national myths.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take
Director Jakub Šmejkal constructs the comedy on a contrast: static, almost documentary-like shots of Prague streets are suddenly disrupted by farcical situations involving a finicky ghost. The humor relies on wordplay and historical allusions that don't require deep knowledge to land.
Those who tire of slapstick will appreciate the clever, character-driven jokes that poke fun not at history itself, but at our modern desire to find simple answers in it. What lingers after is a charmingly altered view of Prague's ancient stones. — MovieFinder Editorial
