🎬 MovieFinder's Take
The film constructs a sharp social comedy by contrasting sacrificial domesticity with reckless romantic indulgence. It explores the quiet power dynamics within a marriage threatened by vanity and financial folly, relying on clever plotting rather than melodrama.
What lingers after the final reel is a satisfying sense of poetic justice, delivered with a light touch and a keen understanding of human foibles. The real battle is fought not with tears, but with wit and strategic patience. — MovieFinder Editorial
