Color Slidings

1972 · 14 min

Abstract colour compositions in yellow, red, and blue, created using an optical printer, are assembled layer by layer. To accomplish this, the filmmaker used film footage that he had already processed, scratched, and painted. Seip was trying to create an effect of depth in his film; this sense is reinforced by the intensity of the colours. The sound comes from a direct optical representation of the integrally edited audio track.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take

Color Slidings is an acquired taste at 0.0/10. We recommend checking the trailer and synopsis before diving in.

Not every film is made for everyone. Read the synopsis, watch the trailer — you'll know right away if it's for you.

A classic from 1972. They don't make them like this anymore — which is exactly why you should watch it. Best for: genre fans and those open to something unconventional.
