The Hand That Rocks the Cradle

Horror that understands fear is built on mounting discomfort, not jump scares. The director doesn't rush, and rightly so. The tension here is physical.

A strong first half sags near the end when the filmmakers start explaining. Horror should leave gaps, not fill them. But the enjoyment remains.

Good for a late-night viewing with someone who appreciates tension. Not for the faint of heart.
