Le Rêve plus fort que la mort

2002 · 88 min Documentary

Jean Rouch's return to Niger, to meet his African friends and the play "Perses" by Aeschylus provide him with the opportunity to relate his Dionysian vision of the world and Songhai mythology. Lam, the Fulani shepherd who is now deceased, once invented a dream: “to be stronger than death”. It is with this strong idea that the journey of this film begins in search of the wonderful stories of the Niger River.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take

Le Rêve plus fort que la mort is an acquired taste at 0.0/10. We recommend checking the trailer and synopsis before diving in.

Not every film is made for everyone. Read the synopsis, watch the trailer — you'll know right away if it's for you.

A 2002 film from an era before CGI overload, with real performances that still hit hard. Best for: genre fans and those open to something unconventional.
