The Screen Illusion

2010 · 88 min Comedy
3.8 / 10 · TMDB

In this contemporary adaptation of Pierre Corneille’s brilliant, eponymous 17th century play, the enigmatic Alcandre is now a hotel concierge who uses the myriad in-house high-tech security cameras to show worried father Pridamant the whereabouts and travails of his son, Clindor. As Pridamant witnesses the conflicting romances involving his estranged son, Corneille’s modernist meta-narrative is transposed to contemporary Paris, underscoring the ambiguous nature of love, wealth and desire in an age of consumerism. 🎬 MovieFinder's Take

The Screen Illusion is an acquired taste at 3.8/10. We recommend checking the trailer and synopsis before diving in.

Not every film is made for everyone. Read the synopsis, watch the trailer — you'll know right away if it's for you.

A 2010 film from an era before CGI overload, with real performances that still hit hard. Best for: genre fans and those open to something unconventional.
