Toni 2001
Toni, a permanent fixture at the local pub and a self-appointed chronicler of town lore, decides to make a documentary about his own life. Armed with an old camcorder, he begins filming absurd encounters with neighbors, philosophical chats with the bartender, and his quest to find meaning in the mundane. His project slowly morphs into a chaotic observational comedy where the line between directing and reality blurs, and the camera lens becomes the only impartial witness to his eccentric days.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take
"Toni 2001" is a witty comedy-documentary hybrid that explores our obsession with self-documentation. The film expertly balances sincerity and irony, never letting the viewer decide whether to laugh or empathize.
What lingers after the credits is an unexpectedly poignant reflection on the narratives we construct about ourselves. Toni and his camera become a lasting symbol of our era's peculiar intimacy with lenses. — MovieFinder Editorial
