Marco, a struggling Italian animator, lands an absurd commission: an educational cartoon about storks for a local conservation fund. His initial cynicism fades as he sees a potential ticket to the big leagues. Teaming up with Clara, an eccentric ornithologist who speaks more to birds than people, and his perpetually optimistic best friend Luca, Marco dives headfirst into the world of long-legged migrants. From decoding stork courtship dances to filming in forgotten wetlands, the trio battles bureaucracy, family expectations, and their own creative egos. Their mission spirals into a farcical odyssey where the line between documentary and fantasy blurs, forcing each to question what they're really fighting for.
