Ahmed returns to his ancestral village after a decade working in the city. His father, an old Bedouin, is dying, leaving his son only an old carpet and cryptic words about a "shadow that remembers." In the dusty rooms of his childhood home, Ahmed discovers his father's journals describing strange desert encounters and a man without a shadow.
