Li Zhen returns to his ancestral village after a decade in the city, only to find no familiar faces and no place for himself. His father, the last keeper of the ancient craft of weaving bamboo cradles, has passed away, leaving the workshop in decay. Instead of selling the land to developers, Li Zhen decides to restore his father's legacy, facing neighbors' indifference, local bureaucracy, and his own profound doubts. His only ally is Xiao Mei, a young teacher who returned to the village from the capital. Together, they attempt not only to preserve the craft but to find a new purpose for it in a modern world where traditional cradles seem like a useless relic. The film explores the conflict between progress and memory, personal duty and freedom of choice, showing how fragile connections to the past can become a foundation for the present.
