Spirit World

Kiyoshi, a Tokyo-based illustrator, starts seeing creatures from Japanese folklore — yōkai — after acquiring an antique brush from a curio shop. These spirits, invisible to everyone else, become his only companions in the vast city. His artwork, populated by these beings, catches a gallery's interest, but as his fame grows, the spirits turn more aggressive. The 2025 fantasy drama explores the thin line between creativity and madness, tradition and modernity, where each yōkai mirrors Kiyoshi's own unspoken longing or dread. The director crafts a visual realm where shadows on walls breathe and the metropolis's hum intertwines with spectral whispers.
