Dreams for Sale

Kotaro and Satoko, a married couple, watch their restaurant burn to the ground, taking their livelihood with it. Desperation breeds a cruel ingenuity: Kotaro begins to marry a series of lonely women, with Satoko as his accomplice, systematically defrauding each new bride of her savings. Each marriage is a calculated step toward solvency, yet also a descent into moral compromise. Their clinical scheme is disrupted by unexpected glimpses of genuine connection, and the daily grind of deception begins to corrode the very foundation of their own partnership, forcing a reckoning with the true cost of their survival plan.
