🎬 MovieFinder's Take
The film constructs a powerful narrative through the stark contrast between epic battle sequences and the intimate moral struggle of its protagonist. It relies on a bold visual allegory, where the submarine becomes a tomb and resurrection offers humanity a second chance.
What lingers after viewing is not merely an anti-war statement, but a profound meditation on redemption and the power of individual conscience against the machinery of conflict. A remarkably brave vision for its era. — MovieFinder Editorial
