🎬 MovieFinder's Take
The film constructs a classic conflict between progress and human greed against a backdrop of monumental mountain scenery. It relies on the contrast between the honest labor of Vesser's crew and the underhanded tactics of their rivals to build a tense rivalry.
What lingers after the final dynamite blast is the image of man versus nature, and versus his fellow man, in the raw pursuit of a frontier. — MovieFinder Editorial
