The Light
Martin, an architect from Berlin, inherits a derelict lighthouse on the Baltic coast. He arrives intending to sell it, but instead uncovers his grandfather's journals from the 1960s, when he was the keeper. The 2025 drama unfolds as a meditation on memory and silence. As Martin begins restoring the mechanical works, not for profit but for understanding, he confronts why his family concealed this place for decades. His encounter with Anna, a local artist who paints only by the lighthouse beam, challenges his own life's blueprint. The film navigates between family legacy and a philosophical inquiry into what we choose to illuminate and what remains in shadow.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take
Director Leonid Petrov frames each shot like an architectural draft—precise, composed, and charged with quiet tension. He employs prolonged silences and the textures of natural sound—creaking wood, wind, distant ferry horns—in place of exposition.
What lingers after is the light itself, not as a plot device but as a character. Anyone ready for a narrative that trusts stillness will find a profound, almost physical sense of place. — MovieFinder Editorial
