🎬 MovieFinder's Take

The film constructs a classic western conflict, relying on the tension of a pending hanging as the plot's ticking clock. By weaving together the crossed interests of cattlemen, farmers, and personal motives, it explores the theme of law versus mob justice on the frontier.

Those who tire of simplistic showdowns will appreciate the moral quandaries faced by the sheriff. What lingers after the final frame is a contemplation of duty in a land where order is a fleeting concept. — MovieFinder Editorial
