Marinette, a Parisian schoolgirl, lives a double life: by day, she's a shy student; when danger calls, she transforms into the superheroine Ladybug. Her partner is Adrien, a quiet boy from her class who, as the masked Cat Noir, secretly harbors feelings for the ordinary Marinette. Together, they face the mysterious villain Hawk Moth, who twists citizens' negative emotions into sinister akumatized monsters. Their mission is twofold—to protect the city and to uncover each other's secret identities, all while juggling homework and fateful battles across the rooftops of Paris.
