Paleontologist Robert Trenton answers the FBI's call to the remote, frozen wastes of Northeastern Antarctica. His expertise is needed to construct an underground maximum-security prison for the world's most dangerous terrorists, a facility the crew grimly nicknames 'New Alcatrax.' As they carve into the ancient ice, their drills shatter more than rock—they rupture a prehistoric tomb. From a two-hundred-year slumber, a primordial boa constrictor awakens, its hunger as vast as the ice sheets, and the labyrinthine prison becomes its new hunting ground.
