The Big O

1987 · 106 min Documentary

A Hungarian filmmaker investigates the traces Orson Welles left behind in Hollywood, maintaining the ambiguity between truth and fiction. Janine Bazin and André S. Labarthe had long hoped to dedicate an issue of their longstanding documentary series, "Cinéastes de notre temps" to Orson Welles. But the master director-actor died in 1985, and Labarthe was left with a considerable challenge: making a film about Welles, without Welles.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take

The Big O is an acquired taste at 0.0/10. We recommend checking the trailer and synopsis before diving in.

Not every film is made for everyone. Read the synopsis, watch the trailer — you'll know right away if it's for you.

A classic from 1987. They don't make them like this anymore — which is exactly why you should watch it. Best for: genre fans and those open to something unconventional.
