Easy's Waltz

Easy, a jazz club pianist, finds sheet music for a waltz on his stand—the same waltz he played the night his brother was murdered ten years ago. Now, two people track every chord: a detective convinced the music holds the key to the cold case, and a woman with a photograph demanding he play the piece to its final note. In a New York where saxophones drown out sirens, Easy must choose between hiding behind improvisation or performing the piece that will split the city into "before" and "after." His fingers remember every passage, but his memory holds details that should never resurface. When the police shut down the club and new "music enthusiasts" take too keen an interest in his past, the waltz transforms from melody into a weapon in a silent war for truth.
