🎬 MovieFinder's Take

The film constructs a claustrophobic family drama that relies on the source play's sharp dialogue. It explores the corrosive power of jealousy and financial dependency within a decaying Southern home.

What lingers after viewing is the chilling precision of the performances and the unsettling portrait of love twisted into possession. A masterclass in slow-burning tension. — MovieFinder Editorial
