Until Branches Bend

Cannery worker Robin spots a dangerous invasive insect inside a peach. Following protocol, she attempts to sound the alarm for her entire community of peach-growing farmers, whose livelihoods hang in the balance. Her conscientious act, however, collides with a wall of corporate indifference and casual sexism. Instead of allies, she finds a hostile system where profit trumps people, and her voice is something to be managed, silenced, and swept aside—all to ensure the relentless machine of industry never grinds to a halt.
