Nine Types of Light

2011 · 60 min

Brooklyn's indie favorites TV on the Radio just released a film set to the music of their acclaimed 2011 album, Nine Types of Light. The movie, which runs for just more than an hour, includes music videos for each song on the album and is supposed to represent a visual interpretation of the record. Lead singer Tunde Adebimpe not only directed the Nine Types of Light film, but also storybooked it and helmed the video for "Forgotten." Additionally, the rest of the band worked with friends and filmmakers to help conceptualize and direct the rest of the music videos.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take

Nine Types of Light is an acquired taste at 0.0/10. We recommend checking the trailer and synopsis before diving in.

Not every film is made for everyone. Read the synopsis, watch the trailer — you'll know right away if it's for you.

A 2011 film from an era before CGI overload, with real performances that still hit hard. Best for: genre fans and those open to something unconventional.
