She made her cinematic debut in the film Biswas (1986) and has since appeared in more than a hundred feature films, hundreds of telefilms, and numerous stage plays. Known for her immense versatility, Sharma has portrayed a wide range of characters, from lead roles in her youth to the poignant, maternal figures for which she is now widely celebrated. Some of her most notable cinematic works include Mukundo, Muna Madan, Sukha Dukha, and Basai.
