He was known for his supporting turns in various films, most prominently 1989's The 'Burbs and Little Monsters. Ducommun was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada, on July 3, 1952. He grew up on a farm and began doing stand-up comedy in his teens. He moved to Vancouver in the early 1980s and hosted the children's television show Zig Zag. Ducommun's film career began in the mid-1980s with small roles in films such as No Small Affair (1984) and A Fine Mess (1986).
