Gavin Houston was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Teaneck, New Jersey. Gavin Houston was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Teaneck, New Jersey. Gavin studied theater at the University of Florida, as well as in New York City where he performed in Off-Broadway productions such as August Wilson's Joe Turner's Come and Gone, Gem Of the Ocean, and Radio Golf, and Eugene O'Neil's Long Day's Journey Into Night. He also has a daughter, is an advanced scuba diver, ex-gymnast, football player, and martial artist. His family is originally from Guyana, South America.
