Angelos Antonopoulos (Piraeus, 16 January 1932) is a Greek actor. He was born in Olympia, near Ancient Olympia (he is originally from Gortynia) and grew up in Tambouria and Ancient Olympia. This place influenced his thinking and his life. He studied at the Drama School of the Karolos Koun Theater. For many years he was also an acting teacher. As an actor, he served all types of theater. He began his wonderful journey, playing in performances by great Greek and foreign writers under the guidance of Karolos Koun. An era rich in successes and experiences. After Koun, his journey in theater continued in collaboration with Dimitris Myrat at the Mousouri Theater. Since 1962 and for ten years he has been playing in large troupes. He collaborated with all the leading men and women of Greek theater, in all theatrical genres: "Julius Caesar" (by Shakespeare), "The Rise of Arthur Huy" (by Brecht), "The Loves of the Four Colonels" (by Ustinov), "The Seagull" (by Chekhov), "Tovarich" (by Jacques De Waal), etc. In cinema, he made an impressive start with Takis Kanellopoulos' Excursion and Parenthesis. Subsequently, he collaborated with Vasilis Georgiadis, Dinos Dimopoulos, Yannis Dalianidis, Erricos Andreou, Giorgos Tzavellas and of course Filopoimenas Fino. In total, he has acted in over 30 films. Television owes him a lot, since he played in various series. In 1971, director Kostas Koutsomytis suggested that he star in the television series The Unknown War (directed by Nikos Foskolos), where he experienced unprecedented recognition and became a "star" overnight. Other series include The Pantheons (directed by Tasos Athanasiadis), The Light of the Dawn, Madame Sousou, and The Wedding Dress Rehearsal. His last television appearance was in Children of Niobe in 2004. He was a teacher at a Drama School for many years, a job he loved because he was fascinated by working with young children. He has published two novels: The Passengers of the Moon and Don't Speak Father, You Are Dead, as well as a poetry collection entitled Unguarded Passage.
